Gratitude in the Midst of Uncertainty

I just came across this paragraph about the value of being grateful—even in the midst of seemingly negative or uncertain circumstances—and it really “spoke” to me:
Lastly, we are required to give thanks even in the midst of difficult times. The Universe does not make mistakes. Everything is to a plan; every pain, every heartache, every obstacle has been carefully orchestrated by a higher wisdom and services our higher good. What we resist, persists.—Tunisha Mehrotra in “Love and Happiness: Gratitude— a Simple Yet Powerful Tool”
I am in the midst of massive uncertainty right now. The circumstances that brought me here are too personal (and way too lengthy) for me to explain on this blog. Suffice to say that the Universe answered another prayer and gave me another sign—and this one is HUGE. What happened throws my short-term security into question and has destabilized my living situation.
But through it all, I intend to stay grateful, upbeat, and totally open to the guidance of the Universe.
But I do expect some rough patches.
Sigh…
Mother Teresa once said, “The Lord never gives you more than you can handle. I just wish that he didn’t trust me so much.”
Amen to that.
