Where Does That Thought Come From?

I have read a few books on this subject:

For every thought ask, “Where did that thought come from?”

Since there is no real answer to that question, just asking it kind of stops the mind.

It also has the effect of distancing you from your thoughts.

You are not your thoughts yet your thoughts define you. The minute you identify with a thought or a concept, you are bound (and limited by) that thought or that concept.

Jesus once said, “As a man thinketh in his heart, so is he.”

Asking “where does that thought come from” every time you have a thought is the first step in freeing yourself from your limiting beliefs and with identifying with your phantom identity.
