Emptiness, Zen Buddhism, and a Strange Coincidence
I was meditating today, and thought that I would write a post about Zen Buddhism today. Specifically, I wanted to write about the concept of “emptiness” in Zen.
Emptiness is a state of being that all Zen practitioners aspire to attain. The state of emptiness, or nothingness, is the ultimate state of non-attachment which is the only way that you can be freed from suffering in this world. At least, that’s how I think of it.
But I am not a Zen Buddhist, so I decided to do some research about the Zen concept of “emptiness,” so that my post could be more information.
Before I did that, however, I went to my inbox, and my eyes immediately went to this headline of the Dog Crazy Newsletter that was in there:
“My Dog Lessened the EMPTINESS of my Soul.”
It was written just like that, with the word “emptiness” all in caps.
Whew! What a synchronicity.
