Danger in Using a Ouija Board Alone?

I have had some eerie experiences with Ouija Boards (though I don’t own one now.)

The Ouija, for instance, predicted the name of my future (now ex) husband before I met him—though the person who introduced us had her fingertips on the planchette when I asked that question.  (Indeed, the reason she came over to my house that day was to ask if I would be interested in meeting that “guy.”)

See…that’s the skeptical part of me talking.

Regardless…

The planchette really does feel possessed as it glides (sometimes shoots) across the board.

But one thing I have never done is used an Ouija Board alone, without a partner.  There are some pretty strong cautions against doing so.

Take Robbie’s story, for instance.

You’ve never heard of Robbie?  Perhaps you know him better as Regan of The Exorcist novel and films.

The Exorcist was based on the true story of a 13-year-old boy who reportedly became possessed after playing with the Ouija Board alone.  (Rachel Withers gives an engrossing account of Robbie’s experience in “The True Story of the Exorcist.”)

So, I’m a big coward.

But you may be less of a weenie than I am.

So, let’s have your story…

Have you ever played with a Ouija Board, alone?
